Let me give you an example of the cancer card at its best. Last week I went to the receptionist to order lunch. She orders from an elementary school and they send it up to the big cheese office. I wanted a trio salad which I thought consisted of egg sald, tuna salad, and chicken salad. The receptionist then began to tell me one of those choices has to be potato salad. I replied no way I have cancer and I need those three!!!! Needless to say my lunches have become large and outstanding....The cancer card at its best...

Hey Bet...this is so great. I know exactly what you mean about the "Cancer Card". During my game the other day one of my players stepped over the free throw line and the ref took away the basket. I said "Hey, wait a minute....my friend Betty has cancer! He said, "Why didn't you say so before Coach?....and proceeded to tell the scorer to count the basket. You're the best! Love you! Kath

Hi Bet,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to make a comment but it is not saving to your blog for some reason. Anyway, I just want to tell you that I think this is a great idea and it keeps all of us in the loop. You could NEVER be left with the Old Maid card. Your competitive nature would never allow it! For the 40 (has it been that long???) years that I have known you, you have always dealt with life in an intelligent way with an extra sense of humor! This is no different. This is yet another interruption on your journey through life, and with all of the support that you are receiving, I KNOW that you will be able to handle this too. Remember I am here for you.
Lots of Love,
You "BFF" Marybeth
You are truly a "specialbet". At SHU you were always a leader, laughing all the way. This cancer thing,is only a little stumbling block for now. Your positive energy, will pull you through with flying colors. I will say a special prayer to Mom and Dad for Thursday. They will pull all the necessary strings. This blog is great because you are loved by so many people. We are all here for you. Love Roe
