Today I went to check the white blood cell count. When I park in the cancer parking section, I look at everyone walking out. I think to myself..that person has cancer? or what about that person..they look it...or look at that person..she probably just works here....As I left my car I knew people would know I had cancer because of my wig...at the end the day I look like a drunken homeless woman...sometimes the wig slants! Then I needed to put some rain bonnet my mom gave me on my head to protect my wig. I didn't look like I had cancer..I looked like a drunken homeless woman who was a grandma!!!
White blood count great..my family will let me out this weekend. This weekend was such horrible weather..it's actually was so depressing. I had plans down the shore , but I used good sense not to chance getting sick and stayed home ...Patti said I should have sucked it up and went...she doesn't know yet she's not in my will!!!
Thursday is the big day at Sloan..My brother and I love that buffet across the street from the hospital. We planned to get there early and attack the buffet!!! Well bad news ..I can't eat before the CAT scan....does this suck...???? If I have to watch my brother eat I will have a meltdown...cancer is majorly inconvenient.

As our niece would say, "When your wig is slanted to the side it adds to your swagger." Or as Frank Peterpaul would say "You now have a new slant on life."
ReplyDeleteThese posts are written by Luanne, by the way, who is now actively following you on your blog. LOVE YOU!!!
this is just another post, so you have more posts!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteCan't you eat after?
We got our power back around 4ish - and spent the time with the lights on cleaning the water out of the basement.
Continued with it today.
And PS - the wig doesn't look all that bad.......
It was very nice to see you this Sunday. I agree with Jill the wig doesn't look bad - when your hair grows back you may want to keep the wig. If you didn't tell us I wouldn't even know, I be like oh Betty must have just woke up. Just kidding - great news! I'm sure when you've beaten this thing Lou will take you out and he can watch you eat. I asked Johnny for his dollar, but he refused - he's getting older. Patti and Ellen always throw a great party! Hope to see you soon.
ReplyDeleteHey Bet....thinking of you this morning. Big week this week...one would think because of Sloan and the whole cancer thing, but noooooooooo...it's a big week because it's Patti's national holiday. Can you imagine if your appointment was on wednesday???
ReplyDeleteIs Patti Irish? Would have never know. Thank God she finally sent a card that was killing me almost went to the store myself to send one for her. Betty don't worry when all is said and done we will go out to Spike's and eat to our hearts content. Then we will take pictures and send them to LouAss just for the fun of it. You tell me when you are ready to feast and I will be there Love you!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at your appointment tomorrow Betty. I have been thinking of you all day. I will say special prayers for only good news to reach your ears. Your wig doesn't cover them does it? You are my courageous friend even in the midst of uncertainty. Too philosophic? Try this...you are kicking the shit out of the alien and I am proud of you. XO Marian
